Féile Crann Nollag Bun Cranncha 2019

Tar éis sos bliana, bhí lúchair orainn le cloisteáil go raibh an féile crann nollag ag filleadh go Bun Cranncha agus ar ndóigh bhí muid thar a bheith sásta páirt a ghlacadh ann agus tús a chur le himeachtaí na Nollag. Tugadh téama "Crann an Aoire" dúinn agus ba í Sinéad, ár rúnaí cruthaitheach, a tháinig anios leis an smaoineadh chun aoire a dhéanamh as chrann!. Chuir na páistí bailchrioch foirfe ar Stanley, ár nAoire speisialta, le tréada caoirigh a dhéanamh dó. Chaith Stanley deireadh seachtaine i nEaglais Chríost an Rí, agus mhol a lán daoine é. Bhí sé tofa mar Chéad Rogha na nDaoine fiú. Tháing sé ar ais ar scoil ansin chuig a áit a ghlacadh ag croílár na maisiúcháin Nollag scoile.

Having taken a break for a year, we were delighted to hear that Buncrana Christmas Tree Festival was returning in November. It's a great way to start our Christmas celebrations and we were delighted to take part again. Our theme this year was the "Shepherd Tree". It was Sinéad, our creative secretary, whose idea it was to create a shepherd out of a Christmas tree, but the children put the finishing touches to Stanley our Shepherd Tree - lots of fluffy sheep! Stanley was on display in Christchurch Buncrana during the festival where he was much admired. He was also voted "The People's Favourite Tree during the festival. He's now back in school at the heart of our Christmas decorations.

"Agus bhí aoirí sa taobh tíre céanna amuigh faoin spéir, ag faireachaín oíche i mbun a tréada." Lúcas 2;8

Ar eagla go mbeadh na caoirigh i mbaol le linn na hoíche, d'fhan na haoirí leo, ag faire orthu sa dorchadas. Táimid buíoch as ár dtuismitheoirí, ár gcaomhnóirí agus as ár múinteoirí, a thugann aire agus cúram dúinn ar scoil agus sa bhaile. Ag an Nollaig ach go háirithe, smaoinimid ar theaghlaigh, agus ar phaistí gan díon gan dídean, go mbeidh deis acu ealú ón dorchadas go buan.

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby keeping watch over their flocks at night. " Luke 2;8

The shepherds kept watch over their sheep throughout the night, to protect them from harm. In the same way, we know we can rely on our parents and teachers to care for us at home and at school. Our thoughts are with homeless families and children that they find shelter at Christmas and the chance of a brighter future.
