Seachtain Frith-Thromaíochta - Anti-Bullying Week
Cheiliúraigh muid Seachtain Frith-Thromaíochta ar scoil an tseachtain seo caite ón 27ú-31ú Eanáir. D'fhoghlaim na páistí faoin dóigh mar a bheith mar cairde maithe agus rinne muid ceachtanna faoin frith-thromaíocht chomh maith. Bhí clár na seachtaine lán de gníomhachtaí suimiúla chun tacú leis na páistí na príomhtheachtaireachtaí a fhoghlaim. Bhí tráthanna na gceist, fiseáin, drámaíocht agus scéalaíocht in úsáid agus phléigh na páistí na saincheisteanna seo:
- Cad is tromaíocht ann ?
- Cad le déanamh le dul i ngleic leis?
- Sábháilteacht ar-líne
Rinne Rang 5 agus Rang 6 ceardlann le Fiona Forman faoi scileanna cóipeála a fhorbairt agus um thrathnóna labhair Fiona le tuismitheoirí chomh maith. Má tá imní ar bith agat faoi do pháiste agus í/é ar scoil, labhair le do thoil leis an mhúinteoir nó le do pháiste. We celebrated Anti-Bullying Week last week from 27th - 31st January. The children learned how to become good friends and also completed lessons on anti-bullying. We used story-telling, videos and quizzes to heighten awareness of bullying and how to keep ourselves and others safe from bullying. We focussed during the week on;
- How to recognise bullying
- How to respond to bullying
- How to stay safe online
Fiona Forman B.Ed.M.Sc. was invited to do a very worthwhile workshop on developing resillience with 5th and 6th class children. In the afternoon, the teachers and sna's had a similar workshop and Fiona finished the day with a "Raising Resillient Children" talk to parents. She shared ways to give our children the support and skills they need to become resillient and parents were clearly very interested in her talk.
